This pizza is a favorite of mine from a local pizza joint. They refer to is as the “french bird” pizza, which of course is a cute play on words. Cordon Bleu is a french creation, and obviously the “bird” part is the chicken.
What you’ll need:
1 package of prepared pie crusts
8 ounces of mozzarella and swiss cheeses
3 thinly sliced chicken breasts
1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
1/2 lb of shaved ham
For the Misenplace:
Dip the chicken in egg, then in breadcrumbs and pan fry it until it’s cooked through completely (about 10 minutes)
For the recipe:
Preheat the oven to 350*
Roll out your pizza crust, into whatever shape you wish. I always use a sheet pan, so my pizza is always rectangle. Prebake the pizza crust for 5 minutes, just until it starts to turn crusty.
Now were going to create same layers. Starting with the spread evenly the swiss cheese. On top of the Swiss, Add the shaved ham and the diced chicken. Then top the meats with mozzarella, again, spread evenly.
Now bake the pizza for about 7 minutes, just until the cheese begins to melt and gets bubbly.
Then were going to repeat the layers again. First the Swiss, then the shaved ham, next the chicken and finally the Mozzarella. This time we are going to bake the pizza for about 15 minutes, being careful to not burn the bottom of the pizza.
Once the 15 minutes are up, remove the pizza from the oven, and carefully side the pizza from the pan to a cooling rack. This will prevent the crust from becoming soggy while in the pan, and it will help the pizza cool off quicker so you can not burn your mouth.
